LUC DARDENNE
-Born in Awirs, Belgium in 1954.
-in 1975, along with his brother Jean-Pierre, he set up the production
house 'Derives'.
-Afterwards in 1981 he set up 'Films Derives Productions' which produces
five full-length features.
-In 1982, he was first assistant director on
'NOUS ETIONS TOUS DES NOMS D'ARBRES' by Armand Gatti.
-Since 1990, he has been running a screen-writing workshop at the Free University of Brussels.

JEAN-PIERRE DARDENNE
-Born in Engis, Belgium in 1951.
-Trained as an actor.
-Began as Armand Gatti's assistant between 1972 and 1973 on theatre productions
'The Durutti Column' and 'L'arche d'Adelin.'
-In 1975, with his brother Luc, he set up the production house 'Derives', and in 1981
'Films Derives Productions'.
-Since 1984 he has been responsible for the audio-visual workshop in the Arts and Sciences
of Communication department at Liege University.
-Since 1975, Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne have been directors of the 'Derives' production workshop, which to date has produced over 60 documentaries.
