Jia Zhang-ke Born in Fenyang, the setting for PLATFORM, in 1970, Jia Zhang-ke studied painting at a fine arts school in Taiyan and also wrote a novel, 'The Sun Hung on the Crotch' in 1991. Two years later he studies film theory at the Beijing Film Academy, graduating in 1997. The same year he received international attention for his first feature 'Xiao Wu' (Pickpocket). His latest film 'Unknown Pleasures' is also available on video-release by Artificial Eye.
