A SHORT FILM ABOUT KILLING

Krzysztof Kieslowski, the director
of the 'Three Colours' trilogy, expanded
two episodes of his BAFTA winning
cycle of short films based on the Ten
Commandments, 'Dekalog', into full-
length features. The results are the
haunting 'A Short Film About Love' and
this brutal story based upon the Com-
mandment 'Thou Shalt Not Kill.'

A disaffected young man murders a taxi driver and is put on trial by the state.

Though defended by an idealistic lawyer, he is finally sentenced to death by hanging for his crime.
Disturbing, thought provoking and graphically filmed in harrowing detail, A SHORT FILM ABOUT KILLING won numerous awards including the Jury Price at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival.
