Krzysztof Kieslowski, the director
of the 'Three Colours' trilogy, expanded
two episodes of his BAFTA winning
cycle of short films based on the Ten
Commandments, 'Dekalog', into full-
length features. The results are the
haunting 'A Short Film About Love' and
this brutal story based upon the Com-
mandment 'Thou Shalt Not Kill.'
A disaffected young man murders a taxi driver and is put on trial by the state. |

Though defended by an idealistic lawyer, he is finally sentenced to death by hanging for his crime.
Disturbing, thought provoking and graphically filmed in harrowing detail, A SHORT FILM ABOUT KILLING won numerous awards including the Jury Price at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival. |
