THE NEON BIBLE

Deep in the night, a solitary train winds its way through the dark countryside.
Riding in one of the compartments is a sad-eyed sixteen year old boy, David (Jacob Tierney). As he peers through a window into the darkness, David begins to see images of his life, fragments from his past.
THE NEON BIBLE tells the story of a boy whose life in the American Deep South in the forties is deeply affected by his over-
bearing parents, and by his bible belt environment.

The film boasts a remarkable cast including Denis Leary as the boy's father Frank and Gena Rowlands as Aunt May - a fabulously glamorous former night club singer who injects a dash of excitement into small town life.
Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning book by John Kennedy Toole, director Terence Davies has created an intensely vibrant and visually resonant film.
