Betty (Isabelle Huppert) and Victor (Michel Serrault), form a rather unconventional couple quietly travelling around France in their motor-home and living safely on part- time swindles... that is until they get caught up in an international money laundering scam. On a trip to Switzerland, Betty ingratiates herself with a young company treasurer, Maurice, who is in charge of delivering a briefcase full of money to Guadeloupe. Victor and Betty go with Maurice to Guadeloupe expecting an easy time in the sun but realise that the situation they have entered is more complex than they thought... Claude Chabrol's fiftieth film is a typically entertaining comedy thriller that demonstrates once again his mastery of the medium.
