Leos Carax burst onto the film scene in 1983 with the critically acclaimed 'Boy Meets Girl'. Since then, he has emerged as one of France's most talented and controversial
filmmakers.
His 1991 film 'Les Amants du Pont Neuf', starring Juliette Binoche and Denis Lavant,
went wildly over budget and divided critics upon its release. Wounded by the experience, Carax retreated from film for 8 years, returning with POLA X, his vision of Herman Melville's 'Pierre or the Ambiguities'.
