GILLIES MACKINNON


Originally an art teacher and later a youth worker in inner-city London, award winning director Gillies MacKinnon began his drama career in television with the acclaimed film NEEDLE (1990). After a few more years in television he decided to write and direct his feature SMALL FACES (1996). This feature was also the debut feature for cinematographer John de Borman and the film went on to receive critical acclaim and win two international awards. Other feature credits include THE GRASS ARENA, THE PLAYBOYS, TROJAN EDDIE, REGENERATION, and HIDEOUS KINKY.


He is currently attached to a number of other feature projects and is writing his own script set in Scotland during the late 17th century.
